Dec 04, · in there is a data folder. create a folder in there called Overdrive and place the mods in there. If you want to play with the Better Combat mod that seems to be the top download for the game, then you need to run the game once first to activate the registry. after that, just run the mod's installer and it should auto find the folder to install to. Witcher 1 mods I was going to add these to my other post here, but I figured it would be better to make a separate one so people can find this more easily via search later on. Most of these I can easily recommend for first playthroughs (especially the cosmetic/lore ones), but you be the judge! Download Link. All of the Witcher mods live on Nexus, and the Nexus Mod Manager is the single best way to wrangle all the competing and conflicting changes that mods might be bringing to your game.

I follow the instructions and ensure that the mod is compatible for my version, but it STILL never works for me. There are multiple different ways to install mods, but I wish there was an "official" way to do it that didn't involve mixing random files into game directories which makes them harder to remove. Skyrim modding worked the best. I can't imagine how people with a crap ton of mods deal with the game's updates since every update breaks mods so you have to deal with every single one you installed.

Unfortunately the Authors of said mods don't have a description as to how to properly install them (or every lack luster instructions). So, after actual testing and comparing the textures in multiple mods, I created this guide (reuploaded because of some issues with my original post) of how to mod The_Witcher_1. How it works: Simple. To mod the game you must create a folder called "Override" in the "Data" folder from game's directory.
